Direct drives

Direct drives with PM technology are an additional, highly effective way of increasing energy efficiency and reducing operating costs. By dispensing with the additional gear unit, friction losses are minimized and energy efficiency is increased further.

The efficiency of a gear unit is approx. 94%. If one assumes an efficiency of 96% for the asynchronous motor, this results in an overall efficiency of 90%. Our direct drives, however, achieve a degree of efficiency of up to 98%, depending on the application. This corresponds to an energy saving of 8%.
